SunCon engaged in Civil Engineering
and Building Construction business in India since 2001.
The company was initially awarded four seperate projects to
construct 4-lane highways in various parts of India's 5,846
km Golden Quadrilateral Expressway project, managed by the National
Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under its Ministry of Road,
Transport and Highways.
The initial four projects awarded to SunCon on JV with local
Indian partners were Belgaum Bypass, and Dharwad to Belgaum
stretch, which are both located along the NH-4 of the State
of Karnataka; the Barrawada to Bagador stretch, in the State
of Jharkhand, and Varanasi to Bihar border stretch in the State
of Uttar Pradesh, which are both located along the east-west
corridor of the NH-2 of the Delhi-Kolkata highway. All four
of these packages are in the completion stage.
SunCon was recently awarded, on its own, two new
contracts from NHAI for the construction and upgrading of existing 2 lane highway to 4 lane dual carriageway in the state of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan which form part of the East-West
Corridor. As demonstrated by these projects, SunCon has significantly
grown from strength to strength in its ability to be an international
player.
